Swiss-Belhotel Jogjakarta is a joint project of the architecture and interior design divisions of PTI Architects.

In response to the client's brief and local code requirements, the architectural design is reminiscent of the colonial architecture particularly the art deco and de stilj styles where rectilinear forms and geometric patterns are arranged in symmetry. The front facade exhibits the strong symmetry of vertical elements, combining andesite with local stone, an inspiration from the Borobudur Temple. Other vertical features include concrete white painted walls and gray ACP cladded fins, seemingly slicing the facade into three parts.

The art deco style continues into the lobby interiors; rectilinear and geometric patterns are used on the floor, wall and ceiling design. A central feature is the metal artwork of famous artist, Ms. Rita Widagdo screening the lift lobby and providing the anchor to the lobby seating area. Color and material finishes of black and white marble, metal trimmings and accents, combined with an elegantly-designed reception backwall of crystals complement a grand chandelier, lighting-up the double-height lobby. Overall, the interiors bring about a classic, elegant, and glamorous ambience.
